Retirement

BMA Financial offers a qualified, denominational 403(b)(9) retirement plan.

This plan is uniquely designed to serve all employees of BMA churches and entities, but it is particularly beneficial to licensed or ordained ministers due to the housing allowance exemption.

This exemption allows for tax free distributions to retired ministers up to the amount of their housing expenses (certain restrictions apply) and provides for substantial tax savings not available through an Individual Retirement Account (IRA) or other types of employer retirement plans.

For savvy investors, the plan offers top investment options in various asset classes to build your own portfolio. For beginning investors, the plan offers highly rated Target Date Funds and Risk Based Funds to “do it for you.”

The plan offers both traditional and Biblically Responsible Investing (BRI) options. BRI is a biblical approach to investing where Christians seek to align their investment decisions with their Christian values.

All funds on the BMA Retirement Plan menu are professionally chosen by credentialed financial advisors and professionally monitored on a quarterly basis. Criteria used to choose and monitor investments include a rigorous 12-point process including items such as the tenure and track record of the investment managers, multi-year returns’ analysis vs. peers, multi-year beta range analysis, net expense ratio vs. peers, etc. Funds not passing the predetermined criteria are replaced as needed, so the menu never becomes static.
