The Greatest Gift We Can Leave

The greatest thing we can give our children is not money, opportunity, or even security. It is a clear understanding that Jesus Christ is their only hope—and that a life lived apart from Him, no matter how successful it may appear, is ultimately a wasted life.
Everything else flows from that foundation.
As believers, we rightly say that God owns it all. Our money, time, abilities, and resources belong to Him, and we are simply stewards. But stewardship does not end with us. One day, what God has entrusted to our care will be passed on. The real question is not just what we leave behind, but who we leave it to—and whether they are prepared to steward it well.
The greatest stewardship gift we can pass on is not wealth, but wisdom—wisdom grounded in the lordship of Christ and shaped by Biblical truth. Money without wisdom is not a blessing; it is a liability.
That wisdom is formed over time. It grows as we teach our children to see work as worship, allow them to experience consequences, and give them real responsibility with money. Stewardship is learned in life, not lectures.
Here’s the encouraging part: it’s never too late to start.
When we give our children Christ first and wisdom second, we leave a legacy that truly lasts.
