Trust in God, Not in Gold!

Ecclesiastes 1:14 says, “I have seen all the works that are done under the sun; and, behold, all is vanity and vexation of spirit.” Solomon—a man blessed with unmatched wisdom and wealth—saw firsthand that even the best of what the world offers falls short without God.
As believers, we know money matters. It allows us to provide for our families, prepare for the future, and support the work of ministry. It’s right to be intentional and prudent with what God entrusts to us. But while money is a blessing, it must never become our trust. Our foundation must be built on something far more secure.
There’s a well-known story, though not historically verified, that paints this truth in a vivid way. It’s said that Alexander the Great made three final requests before his death:
That the best doctors carry his casket—to show that even the wisest cannot defeat death.
That his wealth be scattered along the path to his grave—to reveal that material gain stays behind.
That his hands hang outside his coffin—so all could see he left this world empty-handed, just as he entered it.
Whether legend or lesson, the message rings true: everything under the sun is fleeting.
