Solomon writes in Proverbs 13:11, “Wealth gained hastily will dwindle, but whoever gathers little by little will increase it.”
Wise investing has more to do with patience and perseverance than aptitude and savviness. Investment manager and author Howard Marks states, "I always say that if you stand at a bus stop long enough, you'll get a bus. But if you run from bus stop to bus stop, you may never get a bus."
There are many investing strategies one could follow, all of which have volatility with ups and downs. Constantly chasing the latest “up” strategy will surely lead to poverty.
Patient investors focused on saving little by little and persevering over time will be rewarded. Stay put, keep doing the right things that are in your control, the bus will be here soon!
