The calendar can save you thousands!

Using your health insurance in concert with the calendar can have a significant impact on your annual out of pocket costs. If you have planned medical expenses, deciding when to have those items done is key.
If you have already met or are near meeting your deductible for the calendar year, then don’t wait. Definitely get those planned items done now so you’re spending more of the insurance carriers money and not yours.
If you have not met your deductible but the planned items may meet it, it still may make sense to do them as soon as possible, as this would then leave you the remainder of the year for any additional expenses to be covered mostly or completely by the plan, and not out of your pocket.
If later in the year and you have not yet met your deductible, if possible, it may make sense to defer those planned expense items to the next calendar year so they will go towards that year’s deductible since your deductible automatically re-sets to $0 each January 1.
